Summary:
Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist.
In this dual role, you will provide vital support to our veterinary staff and ensure exceptional customer service for our clients and their furry companions.
Pay negotiations are based on experience.
Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarian with patient care, including restraining animals during examinations and treatments.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical suites.
Prepare and sanitize surgical instruments and equipment.
Monitor and record vital signs of patients, such as temperature, pulse, and respiration.
Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarian.
Perform basic laboratory procedures, such as heartworm tests, bloodwork preparations, etc.
Assist with radiography procedures and positioning of patients for imaging.
Provide excellent customer service by greeting clients, scheduling appointments, and answering phone calls.
Educate clients about preventive care, medications, and post-operative instructions.
Handle financial transactions, including invoicing, processing payments, and managing billing inquiries.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting preferred.
Strong passion for working with animals and providing compassionate care.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in computer skills and knowledge of veterinary software systems.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and protocols.
Physical ability to lift and restrain animals of various sizes.
Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and occasional holidays as needed.
